I'm a Taiwanese-American woman working as a features journalist in Taipei. I write about being an Asian-American in an Asian country, my reporting adventures and the cool things I see on the yam-shaped island as I attempt to embiggen my world. My interests include Taiwan's social history, DIY, photography, toy cameras, needlework, learning useful Mandarin phrases (i.e. trying to get my cousins to teach me swear words), designer toys, popular culture, retro/vintage style and design, indie stores and finding the extraordinary in the everyday.
