Located in the mountains just south of Muzha this is the perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of Taipei. Spend some time exploring the Daoist temple complex spread out over the mountainside. On a clear day there are excellent views of the city of Taipei.

A word of warning: Taiwanese people believe that if a boyfriend and girlfriend visit the temple together then they will break up.

Zhinan Temple is now easy to get to on the Maokong Gondola. You can also catch bus 530 from the Wanfang Hospital MRT station (萬芳醫院捷運站) or if you are feeling energetic hike up there from National Chengchi University (國立政治大學).
