The Glass Box 玻璃箱
The Glass Box is a short fictional film directed by Canadian Matt Finlin. It is based on the lives of two young women in Taiwan. Claudia is a twenty-three year old North American who has reluctantly come to Asia with her boyfriend to teach English at a cram school. Yin-May, also twenty-three, was born and raised in Taiwan by her father in a fishing community on the island of Chijin. The story takes place in the booming metropolis of Kaohsiung, Taiwan's second largest city.
The movie is centred around a conversation between Claudia and Yin-may in the betel nut stand where Yin-May works. The two women share their hopes and frustrations together. Although they come from different sides of the world, they find they have many things in common.
