Bao-an Temple 保安宮

inside the Bao-an Temple in Taipei City

I consider the Bao-an Temple (大龍峒保安宮) to be Taipei's most beautiful. It was established in 1742 and a great deal of effort has been put into preserving and restoring the temple. It received an honorable mention at the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award in 2003.

The picture above gives a sense of how great the attention to detail is in the temple.

The temple is located in the Datong District of Taipei at 61 Hami Street (台北市哈密街61號). It is about 15 minutes walk from the Yuanshan MRT Station. Next door is Taipei's Confucius Temple (孔廟) which is also worth a visit.
