I have a vegetarian visitor coming to Taipei, strict vegetarian.
Any recommendations for vegetarian places in Taipei? anything, from 5 stars to street food, would be highly appreciated.

It is not strictly a vegetarian restaurant and it is not cheap, but I highly recommend Mushroom Park. Cost is around NT$500 per person.

There are vegetarian buffets in almost every neighbourhood. Look for the swastika sign (the Buddhist style one). Generally you choose from the buffet and pay by weight. Around NT$100 for an average meal.

After asking around these are the two I found in the Taipei Main Station area :
44 Huaining Jie (rd.) Sec. 1
47 KaiFeng Jie (rd.) Sec. 1 - Veggi Garden (very nice!)

Vegetarian Kitchen is conveniently located in the small pedestrian market at the bottom of the stairs at the Shilin subway station, which is where you get off to take the bus to the National Palace Museum. It is easy to find as it has a sign in English that clearly designates its vegetarian.
