Tenor sax and guitar playing ex-pat needs high-level jazz musicians to play with. I reside in Hsinchu and I will travel to play with serious musicians. I'm determined to gig, record, compose, and play uncompromisingly high quality music. I compose tunes and love standards as well. I am playing with a great violinist who is a talented improviser. I love Trane, Miles, Wayne Shorter, electric and straight ahead to experimental music.

Submitted by Victor Johnson (not verified) on Sun, 2009-06-14 05:28.I'm a pretty dedicated jazz piano player and I'm moving to Taoyuan for a period of several years in August of 2009. I listen to pretty much Miles Davis, Coltrane, Wayne Shorter, and also a lot of Brazillian Bossa Nova. I'm not exactly a professional musician yet, since I only know about 10 jazz tunes that I'm comfortable improvising over. BUT, I really am serious about improving and playing professionally in the future and will dedicate quite a bit of time to learning tunes and improving my improv. I have jammed with jazz musicians before, so I know how to sink into a good groove during a solo without getting too far away from everyone else's playing so I can still swing. The songs I can do are the famous ones - Autumn Leaves, Giant Steps, All Blues, Someday My Prince Will Come... etc. but I'd be really into playing some newer tunes like Ju Ju.
