VISA runs - where to go?
My 2 months VISA is about to expire and I need to go for a VISA run. I'm currently checking all options - HK/Macao/Thailand/Japan/Singapore/Philippines, but the more I read about others experience the more I get confused.
Does anyone have any recommendation as to where to go for a quick VISA run in terms of money/speed/branch-friendliness?

If speed is of the essence then go to HKG. Although that office has a reputation for being fickle and unfriendly. HKG is probably the only visa run destination that is possible to do in one day. To do this you need to catch an early morning flight from Taipei to Hong Kong.
If you are not rushed for time then I suggest Bangkok. The city is much cheaper than HKG and has a wide selection of hotels in every price bracket. Plus the food there is awesome!!
Manila, Okinawa, Singapore and a number of other cities are also possible visa run destinations.
