Mid-range accomodation in Taipei
Hi,
Taiwanderful has good suggestions for budget accommodation in Taiwan, but I'm looking for something a bit more up-class from 80 to 100 US$ per night for me and the wife. Do you guys have any recommendations for good mid-range hotels in the 101 and Taipei Main Station areas?

I don't really have the need to stay in a hotel in Taipei so I can't really give any specific recommendations. I'll just give a few suggestions based on information from various sources.
You can try an online booking service like www.asiarooms.com. They will offer a choice of many hotels in Taipei. Or just do a search for "Taipei Hotels" in any search engine.
The Welcome Hotel has been recommended by a poster on Lonely Planet's Thorn Tree. It is close to Taipei Station.
Caesar Park and Cosmos Hotel are two big hotels near the Taipei Station. I don't know their exact room rates but they would be around US$100.
Rough Guides says of the Charming City Hotel: "This friendly hotel is the best deal in Xinyi". It is not far from Taipei 101 at 295 Xinyi Road Section 4. The phone number is 02 2562 1962.
