Kosher food and Jewish community in Taiwan
I'll be travelling with a Jewish Israeli friend who keeps Kosher to Taiwan next month, and he's a bit worried about what he might have to eat over there.
- Are there Kosher places in Taiwan?
- Is there a Jewish community in Taiwan?
Thanks!

Vegetarian food in Taiwan and the Taipei Rabbi
Hmmm...
As for Kashrut in Taiwan, I think you will probably have a hard time with finding things that would be okay for you. I'm not a big expert on Kashrut and Halacha, so what I suggest is that you contact Rabbi Einhorn (CCed), who's living in Taipei and head the tiny Jewish community over there. I'm sure he could give you some good pointers. His email address : einhorn-at-ttn-dot-net
You might also want to check out David's Vegetarian food in Taiwan guide , as I'm sure your friend would at least be able to eat from great vegetarian food variety around Taiwan.
Sababa Restaurant
Taipei now has not one, but two Israeli Restaurants. Sababa Pita recently opened their second branch. I am not sure if their food is Kosher though. You could send them an e-mail to ask.
Very Israeli... but not Kosher
I think it would be almost impossible to get a Kosher place running in Taipei, since the regulations are very difficult to follow with no basic infrastructure.
But I think that when it comes to Israeli food or Israeli owned places, there used to be a few options around Taipei. I forgot the name, but there was one next to ZhongshaoFuxing station... I'll look it up.
