I can only suggest trying to negotiate a discount. Shops need to make a profit so don't expect them to give the bike away. The prices in Taiwan are generally cheaper than what you would pay overseas anyway.

Also I think it is good to go to a shop where they are friendly and helpful. That way you can be confident about getting a good service and repairs after you get the bike.

There is a good list of bike shops on the Formosan Fat Tire Association website. It hasn't been updated for a few years, but as far as I know most of the information is still accurate.
