Hoi-dick Chu, 35, an activist leading the protest against the relocation of the legendary Star Ferry Pier. He sparked the fire of social awareness throughout Hong Kong.

Portnoy Zheng, 29, a Taiwanese software genius who turned social-media into a tool for advocating farmers’ right. High-tech goes grassroots.
