There is another “inconvenient truth”: The Live Earth concert, an event developed to increase environmental awaress, produced 74,500 tons of carbon. That’s 3,000 times more than Briton's average annual footprint. Furthrmore, a government-sponsored shift to “green cars” turned into a market folly, making renewable energy look like a fantasy.

But when going “green” becomes a collective lifestyle, it has an impact. Germany generates 17% of its electrical power from renewable sources. How “green” are the Germans and what are their challenges?
