It is always a difficult

It is always a difficult question to answer. People have different expectations and spending habits. Anyway here is my answer.

Rent will be your biggest expense. It could be anything from NT$5,000 for a tiny room to NT$20-30,000 for a large apartment in a good location. I think you should expect to pay somewhere around NT$10,000. If having a larger and more comfortable space is important then look at renting in some of the places on the edge of the city in Taipei County rather than central locations in Taipei City.

I think you can get by on around NT$30,000 for monthly expenses including rent. On this kind of budget you do need to watch what you spend and certainly wouldn't be eating in fancy restaurants every night of the week.
