The main library of Taiwan has English periodicals, newspapers and reference books as well as a huge selection of materials in Chinese. You need to register before you go in so take some ID. If you take a passport photo you can get a card made to alleviate the need to register on subsequent visits. It is located at No. 20 Zhongshan South Road (台北市中山南路20號), opposite the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Take the MRT to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall station (中正紀念堂捷運站).
